As a young boy, he spent hours playing the game at the local park. The combination of inherited interest and inborn determination made Lampard the ideal competitive athlete. He was the sort who does not just play but wants to be the best in what he does. In 1994, he already signed a youth contract with the Hammers. After a year with West Ham, he was loaned to Swansea. Working side by side with skilled players, Frank Lampard upped his game and actually scored 19 goals in the 2004 to 2005 season.
