With a flaming hot body and boyish charms, Chris Evans is best known as the Human Torch in the Fantastic Four series. This helped him land a series of comic book adaptation roles such as Sylvain White from DC Comics' The Losers. The hunky actor was also cast to play opposite Dakota Fanning as among the psychically gifted in the movie, Push, where he did his own fighting stunts. Proving that he has the bod, charm, athleticism, and the acting prowess to take the lead in sci-fi movies and comic book adaptations, perhaps one of the defining moments in Evans' career is the Captain America role, which could very well turn him into the lady's fantasy beyond his boy-next-door charm.
Before Chris Evans made it to the Hollywood silverscreen, Evans made cameo roles in TV series such as the Boston Public and The Fugitive, and got a role in the Opposite Sex TV series. He had his break after traveling to Brooklyn as an intern for a casting agency and taking a summer acting program. He was then discovered by an agent who gave him several acting stints until he landed the role of Jake Wyler in Not Another Teen Movie, one of his most memorable as an upcoming Hollywood actor. This is followed by more serious roles in the movie The Perfect Score and Cellular. He also co-starred with Keanu Reeves in the movie Street Kings.
After making a big buzz in the Hollywood radar, the Young Hollywood Awards in 2005 named Evans as the Male Superstar of Tomorrow. Following his box office success in a number of films, Evans took the 474th spot of Forbes' Star Currency rankings in 2009.
Born on the 13th of June, 1981 in Massachussetts, the hunky actor is of Italian and Irish descent. He is the son of a dentist and a dancer. Evans planned to go to New York University but was sidetracked to a luminous career in Hollywood.
